When you cook for family and friends, you want the healthiest and finest ingredients. At Kenyon's Grist Mill, we only offer the best. Our stone ground products can be used in endless recipes. For example, our four types of corn meal (white, yellow, blue, and red) can be substituted in any recipe that calls for cornmeal. We also have a variety of mixes and flours.  Stone ground products are much healthier than steel ground products, because the vital quality and nutrition of the grain is preserved. Although the modern steel grinding process is much faster, the grain is usually sprayed with a pesticide to lengthen its shelf life. "The greatest wealth is health," wrote Virgil. As a son of a farmer, this ancient Roman poet recognized that there was more to wealth than monetary gain. Today, more than ever, millers and farmers need to be reminded of this. At one time or another, we all have to make a choice to invest in a healthy path or sell out to an alternate approach. Just as farmers need to maintain best farming practices, millers are also responsible for grinding the finest grain and maintaining its integrity. Unfortunately, the common practices and methods of agri-business and massive flourmills have produced a "fools gold", which has caused health problems across our nation. Some of these methods have actually been outlawed in others countries. Although doing things the right way is not always the most lucrative, it does produce quality products...

Experience the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of autumn during this authentic, New England Harvest Celebration!  The original Johnny Cake Festival from the 1970s and '80s is on its way back.  Enjoy a "cornucopia" of seasonal food, art and specialty products from over 75 participants, including area farms, artisans, restaurants, and businesses!  Delight in an abundance of free samples of local food, beverages, wine, sweets, and of course... Johnny Cakes!  Take a tour of the grist mill and grinding process, dance to live music, visit with the alpacas, watch a variety of demonstrations including blacksmithing, chair caning, spinning, broom making, stone carving, mosaic making, oil painting, leathersmithing, basket weaving, and pottery wheel...

As the cool weather approaches, warm up with a cup of pumpkin spice coffee, hot apple cider or chai latte made with all local ingredients from Irie Teas.  Try a bowl of Millie's Home-style soups and a slice of oven heated pie from Hopkins Farm with local whipped cream.  Grab a Rhody Warm blanket made by 100% local wool and watch 17th century re-enactors from Coggeshall Farm cook Johnny cakes over open fire.  Savor La Strada Wood Fired Pizza with all local ingredients.  Experience the best grilled chicken sandwich from Baffoni's Poultry Farm.  Harvest wouldn't be the same without Stamp Farm's corn on the cob, Gerb's pumpkin seeds, fudge...

July 24 & 25: Summer is finally here!  And to celebrate...enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the season as you dangle your feet along the Queen's River on a free kayak ride.  You might want to bring some blueberries or veggies along with you...and nothing cools you off better than some Del's Lemonade, iced tea or coffee, and fruit smoothies made with all local fruit!  It wouldn't be July without a barbeque...try a local hotdog or a "Rhody Burger" made with local grass-fed beef and all Rhode Island fixings.  Jazz things up with a unique dippin' & bastin' sauce.  Listen to local live bands that compliment the flow of the waterfall...

October 24 & 25: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.  It's coming...our last & largest Open House event of the year!  The crisp autumn air brings warm, crackling kettle corn popcorn, fresh baked pies, pumpkin & apple crisp ice cream, corn on the cob, candy apples, apple cider, paint your own pumpkins, chocolates, fudge, wine tasting, and an abundance of free & local food samples.  Free samples include local coffee, a variety of johnny cakes, oysters, sausage and cheese, local bread, pancakes, popcorn, salsa, coffee milk, and wine.  There will be clam cakes, chowder, corn muffins, "all Rhode Island" burgers, local crafts, jewelry, alpacas, vegetables, herbs & plants, live music...

Preparations are well under way for Kenyon's tours and events this spring and summer.  Join us as we kick off our season!  On the last weekend of May, enjoy the re-birth of our mill store at our open house.  The store will feature a full line of Kenyon's products, along with a variety of cooking related crafts and goods, with a special emphasis on local talent.  We have been very successful this fall and winter at scheduling many new people to visit the mill.  Our attendance at the National Tour Association and American Bus Association conferences will bring tourists across...
