"Barbara Sherman Steston's Yankee roots go back to Roger William, the colonist who founded Rhode Island. She learned the art of cooking from her mother and grandmother while growing up on a farm and partipating in 4-H food programs, where she won her first national award. Barbara began her career as a home economist for the University of Rhode Island and has been a home economics teacher for nearly thirty years. She is Director of Stetson Laboratories, specializing in nutrition, education, and food programs. Barbara is a menber of the American Food and Wine Institue and the International Association of Culinary Professionals.
In addition to being a nationally known food judge and consultant, Barbara has published numerous articles on cooking, nutrition, family life, and travel." (from the back cover)
